Taxonomy of PH440

I was on my yacht travelling across the vast ocean of the Atlantic when one storm came. The eye of the storm hit my yacht and caused me to loose my consciousness. When I woke up, I realized that storm brought me in a strange island where strange creatures live. At first I was shocked with what I saw but as days passed I got used to it. Since I am taxonomist, I decided to classify these strange creatures into new kingdoms of organisms.

Kingdom PATRUS

The members of this kingdom are those who considers academic advancement as their greatest achievement. They are basically knowledgeable  about things here on earth. The members of this kingdom is further subdivided into phylum according to their subject specialties.

Phylum mathematica – specialists in numbers

Phylum lifea – specialists in life

Phylum physica – specialists on objects and its motion with relation to energy and force

Kingdom DONECUS

The members of this kingdom is known for their lively nature. I consider them as the jokers of the island. They are witty and they used this wittiness to bring everyone happiness and entertainment.

Phylum musicae – organisms fond of music

Phylum ludous – creatures who love games

Phylum tripudia – loves to dance

Phylum arturis – crafty creatures

Kingdom MONERIES

They are those who render their service to others. They think first before the act. They are concerned to others more than their self. They are friendly. Some of them are slackers yet always ready when emergency happens.

( NOTE: Best Achievement goes to Raphael 😛 )

BUCKET LIST

Posted: September 7, 2011 in Real life stories

Death is part of human life. “Immortality” is somewhat impossible (based on current knowledge). We can only prolong life but eventually, it will still have an end. Knowing about this thing called “death” people have developed the way of thinking of what they want to achieve before they die.

Frankly speaking, I fear death. I want to do several things before my life end but, sadly speaking, it seems my lifetime would not be enough to achieve them all.

First of all I want to graduate in the University in the Philippines before I die. Ever since I was a child I really don’t want to go to school. As I grew up, I realized that it really helped a lot in me. You may ask me of all schools why UP Diliman? The answer is something personal but lets just put it this way, there is a close friend of mine who really wants to study at UP Diliman but could not achieve it. I’ll be the one to pursue her goals in behalf of her.

I want to leave a mark and contribute to the current or future knowledge about mathematics. Math is everything to me. It is my only pride as of know (I would fail a course without math) that’s why before I leave this world I want to somehow find a way to ease everyone in the field of math and to make all people to love it.

I have this sort of theory about the human brain that I want to know if it is true before I die. I dreamed about this one about 3 months ago. It came to me a possibility that the human brain contains all the knowledge in the whole universe but only few of them are active. It is maybe related to the number of folds of a brain. I think that this folds just acts like “limiters” that prohibits us to gain the knowledge of everything. This is just a theory so I won’t expand it any longer.

Moving over, I want to have a family and a house I can call my own. I don’t want to be feel lonely that to think that nobody cares about me before I die and I want someone to take care of all the things that I will leave here on earth. I want to carry the my last name ( I want to have a son) so that our family name would not end at time.

I really want to travel around the world. I want to see it in all possible views that man can ever see it. I want to go there personally for a change. I wish I can see all those places from books in real life. I want to learn more about people. I want to learn how they live. I want to tell them the tales of our land. I want to leave a mark in this world so that I can continue living in peoples’ minds.

Those are just few of the things I want to do before I die. I can’t post them all here because the space won’t be enough. There are about thousands or even millions more. These are just my priorities as of now. I wish I can experience everything in life but I know in reality that I can’t.

Godswar Guide: Champions

Posted: July 14, 2011 in GAME REVIEWS

(It’s l30n. BBH Philippines’ guild leader)

Dreadful physical damage, highest hit and critical rating and a high amount of dodge are some of the best things about being a champion. The roles of being a champ are to deal great damage, deal massive damage and , of course, deal high damage :D. They got pretty low defense and magic defense. Who needs them anyway if you can kill the enemy at an instant? (need them in PINDUS and NI MINI because of enemy’s massive number :P)

I. General Information about champions

1.) What to expect when you are a champion?

You’ll experience ease in leveling up because you can kill mobs the fastest at the start of the game. Expect that you would die a lot of times in battlefield events due to lack of defense. If you are a level 90+ champion, some parties will need you in Medusa Island Instance to kill Stheno (a magic based boss which is immune to magic attacks making a mage useless). With proper knowledge and estimations, you have a high chance of being one of the highest ranking killers of your faction.

2.) Don’t be a champion if you:

  • Don’t want to be bullied and killed often. Mages will bully you a lot because of very low magic defense. Imagine a 3k+ matk mage against your 300 mdef as compared with your 3k+ atk against their 1k+ def. Champs are usually a poor thing against mages.
(I think champions has no problems other than their defense and magic defense. With a wide variety of aoe’s and                     other skills you sure will not ask for more) 🙂
3.) Pros:
  • highest physical damage output
  • seldom miss hit
  • high percentage critical attacks
  • fair dodge rate
4.) Cons:
  • Low defense
  • Low magic defense
  • lacks MP
II. Build (I only saw spanksta’s guide so I don’t have any other sources. Others are my theoretical builds.)
a.) 0 Crit Resistance

Weapon:Physical Att, Hit Rate, Physical Dmg%, HP, 5th stat Physical Dmg%
Gloves: Physical Att, Hit Rate, Crit, Physical Dmg%
Helm (atk helm): Physical Att, Hit Rate, Physical Dmg%, HP
Rings (Hp Ring): Physical Att, Crit, Physical Dmg%, HP

Armor: Phy Def, Dodge, Absorb, HP
Belt: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Absorb
Boots: HP, Dodge, Absorb, Hp resto
Amulet: Dodge, Healing Done, MP, Absorb
Cuff: Phy Def, Mag Def, Hit Rate, Healing Done
Legging: Phy Def, Mag Def, Dodge, Healing Done

Att Stones: Pdmg%, Reduce PDef%
Def Stones: Red Crit%, Red Crit Value

Pros: Highest physical atk, highest hit, highest crit, fair dodge, fair absorb
Cons: Enemies will always hit you with a critical.
b.)  Spanksta’s Build (pots build)
Pros: high damage, fair dodge, high crit, high hit, high Healing done
Cons: Low def and mdef
Here is the picture w/ stats of l30n beside Tropical/Ryan10
I just pilot l30n as of now. He is the leader of the guild which I belong to.This character has more work to do but I am hoping to make this a greater character when the owner gets back from his job (he is a seaman *LMAO*)
III. Tips
  • Make a priest together with a champion to cover up for the low defense at the start of the game.
  • Afk every time you can do so.
  • Get the priest to level 70 so you can make it a scholar. Then get a main profession for the champion (I suggest blacksmithing for it can give you a lot of income)
  • Do daily marathons to gain b-gold.
  • Participate in different events and join different instances for some extra b-golds (reputations and ethics) and some useful items (points and honor)
  • for other tips, refer to my priest guide 🙂
3 classes down and 1 to go. I been busy lately so I forgot to finish this guide and the mage guide. I hope I can finish it by Sunday. Avada Kedavra! (ooops. that’s from Harry Potter :P)

Vargas Museum is located within the University of the Philippines Diliman campus (I think it was beside the College of Arts and Letters). In front of the museum is a muddy trail (since it rained that day) where one can see some brilliant art pieces  nailed on the ground (I don’t think that “nailed” is the word that can best describe it. I just can’t think of the right term.). There is also a decent museum cafe located beside it (I looked at the pastries and they all look delicious. I wish I can have one *RFOL* 🙂 ). For a small fee of P20.00, one can roam inside the museum to find some magnificent artworks by well known people.

Since it was Dr. Jose Rizal’s 150th birthday, the whole first floor was all about him (actually it was about his statues and monument). The first one I saw explains clearly everything about the Rizal Monument located at Luneta park (well I can’t really remember anything about it but I wrote my own description of it on my notebook. Sad to say but that notebook is lost).

The second floor contains various paintings and artworks. Indeed that there are a lot of paintings made by Fernando Amorsolo but the one that captured my attention among all of his works was the “Tupada”. It was about cock fighting between a red cock and a white cock where the red one appears to be more agile and stronger than the white one (it reminded me of my father who was addicted to” sabong” but I’m happy that he stopped it 🙂 .). There was one art piece that really bothered me, “The Saliva of an Ifugao as an Artist”. The whole thing was a modern comfort room with a wooden stick drilled to the light green tiles and another one coming out of the wooden ceiling (talk about weird). The best part of it was the wall. There was a dried brown saliva on it (*YUCK*)! Modern art was indeed something that no one can understand what the artist is trying to say (or maybe there is no meaning).

I don’t get to roam at the third floor because I was amazed by the beautiful, creative and artistic works on the second floor. I’ll try to go there one of these days when I’m not busy just to answer my curiosity.

NOTE: Sorry that my blog post was late. I got trouble yesterday with the internet access. First I thought that it was only our internet but when I looked around the computer shops, none of them got internet access. It was said that there was a trouble on the lines and luckily it was fixed by 4:30am today. 🙂

Godswar Guide: Warriors

Posted: July 8, 2011 in GAME REVIEWS

(It’s Tropical. One of the first strongest warriors in the game)

A thick armor, high hp and high mdef, it is the best way to describe a warrior (talk about toughness). Warriors may lack some damage but on a typical fight, his hp and tough defence cover up for the lack of damage. Their main role is, obviously, to receive most of the damage of the enemies to protect their comrades but that’s not all, if the warrior is a well forged on and got atleast Rage Claw 3, he can be a lethal killer.

I. General Information about warriors

1.) What to expect when you are a warrior?

People will call you for instances (dungeons) so you can tank some boss (it’s your choice whether to come or not since you most likely to do it on your own). Tanker would be your main role in the game. You should have the toughest defense and highest hp in the game. People will call you NOOB if you got a low hp and defense making you as thin as a champion. You should also expected to have lots of pots during wars (most of the enemies will gather around you and will hit you). And of course you will need more mp to cast all your powerful skills (Flash Chop, Steel Rain and your continues Rage Claw).

2.) Don’t be a warrior if you:

  • Got no patience. Like priests, you would lack a fast killing skills. You are most likely to use Rage Claw all the time for hp draining then use Flash Chop at the right moment.
  • Are too thrifty. You are most likely to spend more on pots and forging. Warriors needs lots of attention.
  • Don’t want to be ignored. Most people will ignore you (believe me). The reason is that you are harder to kill. It would take time before your dead.
  • Want an instant kill. Flash Chop is your only lethal weapon for instant kills (actually the only skill with a high damage output that is). You will grind harder if you want more and more kills with Rage Claw.
  • Have a bad sense of timing. A perfectly cast stun would defy it all. It would also be the line between life and death of your target 🙂 .

3.) Pros:

  • Highest hp restoration rate.
  • Highest defense
  • Highest hp
  • Easy to move around even if it is lag (just spam all your skills around)

4.) Cons:

  • Low hit rate (most of your attack are most likely to miss)
  • Low dodge rate (you can’t barely evade some powerful attacks)
  • Lack of mp (well most characters have this problem except for mage I think)

II. Build (this is just ryan10/tropical build. I didn’t even saw other warrior builds so far except for the drills)

The best sword you could possibly make.

Update: Critical changed for Phys Percentage.

Also no explaining, Warriors need hit rating, end of story.

Replaced the HP with Hit on the helmet,

Update:Hp is back on the helmet

Replaced dodge with hp res speed, such a good change due to the fact that champs are going to hit me regardless.
Update:Replaced damage absorption with magic defense, big big difference, and much much better.
Change the Damage Absorption for Critical Resistance just because Damage Absorption sucks.
Update:Critical Resistance is now on, amazing difference.
Update:I came to a conclusion that you don’t even need to make your boots epic as a warrior…. such a big waste. Dodge is pointless, only use boots for the bottom stats
Mp is needed so much, warriors at this level need mp more then they need hp.
Warriors needs some damage so no the ring stays Scorpio 🙂
 No need for explanations 🙂
HP restoration is really a must for a warrior (to be able to survive longer 🙂 ).
 No explanations needed 😛
Pros: High Hp, extreme hp restoration, interesting amount of attack for a warrior, nice hit rate, high defense and high magic defense.
Cons: Low dodge (actually you don’t really need it),  low absorb (absorb sucks but a few more might work. I can’t really explain it but it’s not like a con but it is in the stats)
(Warriors and priests are somewhat the same so for the tips, please refer to my priest guide)
At last my warrior guide. Too bad I can’t post a picture of my warrior since i shifted it to mage now 😛 . Just wait for the champion and mage guides. I’m looking for a more reliable reference than what I have now. 🙂

Godswar Guide: Priests

Posted: July 3, 2011 in GAME REVIEWS

(Here is a picture of BooBies with stats, the best priest I ever saw)

Priest is a really amazing class in Godswar. As for other games, priests are mainly support characters. Healing their comrades and giving some helpful buffs to the whole party are usual things a priest do in a game. IGG brought this kind thinking to a new world by making priest on of the most dreadful class in Godswar World.

 I. General information about priests

1.) What to expect if your a priest?

Obviously as the support character (as many people think), people will call you a lot in War Events (especially on Pindus and Ni Mini Valley Battlefield events) asking for some buffs (mana shield) or some heal at random places. Your faction (Sparta or Athens) will expect a lot from you. If you failed to heal some allies and as a result they die (usually happening when your heal and area heal is cooling down), they will call you NOOB or STUPID (yeah.most people are insane that they don’t understand the cooldown rate of skills :P).  During boss fights, people would be mad at you when you got wrong timing of heal (hey there be glad that I’m healing you) and they will tell you not to attack because your just a priest (so what’s my offensive skills for?). They will blame their own character’s problems to you, the priest, who they called for help.

2.) Don’t be a priest if you:

  • Love to hit enemies with a massive damage. Priests has the weakest in game damage class making them the slowest killers during fights. You can only hit a massive damage on lowbies (people of lower levels).
  • Got a bad timing and accuracy. Priests are all about timing, using the right skills at the right moment, and accuracy of the skills. One mistake and you’ll be a dead meat (*RFOL*)
  • Got a not so good PC and INTERNET CONNECTION. This one is the most important of them (also a must for mages). Too much delay and for sure you’ll die. As I said earlier, timing is needed and no matter how good your timing is, You’ll never have the right skill at the right time if your LAG!!!!!
  • Love boss hunts. As the lowest damage dealers, expect almost all boss to be pulled by others.
  • Got low self-esteem. You might ask me why. To explain it in a simple way, decision are to be selected wisely and if you don’t react fast or you hesitated a move, your a goner.

3.) Pros:

  • High healing and healing done (can reach over 14k+ if your a well forged priest)
  • A huge defense and magic defence (2nd best in the game next to warriors)
  • Extremely high dodge (I saw boobies with 1100+ dodge)
  • Can turn the war around (well of course you will be the faction carrier if you make wise decisions)

4.) Cons:

  • Not so high HP as warriors (its really fine with a high dodge but more hp would make a difference)
  • Low Magic Attack and Magic Damage (lowest of them all 🙂 )
  • Lack of offensive skills
  • Needs a lot amount of cash to make a decent forged priest

II. Builds (got these from boobies’ guide and edited some)

a. Basic Priest Build
It’s the typical build for a priest. It is the basic of all builds priest have nowadays. It involves maximizing all talents (stats) and all zodiacs (all builds actually maximize zodiacs).

Weapon: Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, HP, 5th stat healing
Gloves: Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, Magical Dmg%
Helm (Hp/Mp Helm): Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, HP
Rings (Hp Ring): Magical Att, Healing, Magical Dmg%, HP

Armor: Phy Def, Dodge, Absorb, HP
Belt: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Crit Res
Boots: HP, Dodge, Absorb, Crit Res
Shield: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Absorb
Amulet: Dodge, Crit Res, Healing, Absorb
Cuff: Phy Def, Mag Def, Hit Rate, Crit Res
Legging: Phy Def, Mag Def, Dodge, Crit Res

Att Stones: Mdmg%, Reduce MagDef%
Def Stones: Red Phy %, Red Mag %
Pet: Matt, Hp, Def, MagDef, Critres, 1 more (could use dodge/hitpet also now that available)

Pros: High HP(105k+), High Dodge(1100+), High Crit Res(230+), High Def(5k+), High Mdef(2500+), Best heal to others
Cons: Matt/Mdmg stays lower, Heal not optimized for pots(no healing done), you should make a matt helm for leveling purposes

b. 0 Crit Resistance Priest Build (Base)
This build is the new common trend started in all the servers. It involves taking away all crit res, and boosting your healing as high as possible. As my computations go, the damage received output was really less compared to the typical build.

Weapon: Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, HP, 5th stat healing
Gloves: Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, Magical Dmg%
Helm (Hp/Mp Helm): Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, HP
Rings (Hp Ring): Magical Att, Healing, Magical Dmg%, HP

Armor: Phy Def, Dodge, Absorb, HP
Belt: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Absorb
Boots: HP, Dodge, Absorb, Healing Done
Shield: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Absorb
Amulet: Dodge, Healing Done, Healing, Absorb
Cuff: Phy Def, Mag Def, Hit Rate, Healing Done
Legging: Phy Def, Mag Def, Dodge, Healing Done

Att Stones: Mdmg%, Reduce MagDef%
Def Stones: Red Crit%, Red Crit Value
Pet: Matt, Hp, Def, MagDef, Dodge, Red Crit Dmg (could use hitpet also now that available)

Pros: High HP(105k+), High Dodge(1100+), High Def(5k+), High Mdef(2500+), Best heal to others
Cons: Dodge was ignored since you will always receive a crit (crit always hit meaning you can’t dodge)

c. 100% support/tanker build (Base)
I’ve never seen this build done before, atleast as a high forged char, but I imagine it would be pretty cool. Useless solo, but cool in a group. If you had unlimited money and wanted a priest to just follow you around healing you, this would be the character. Another good thing about this is you only need to max Heal, AreaHeal, GaiaCare, Shackle, Manashield, which saves money as a support 2nd character.

Weapon: HpRes, MpRes, Healing, HP, 5th stat healing
Gloves: HitRatingBuff, Hit Rate, Healing, Magical Att
Helm (Hp/Mp Helm): Max Mp, Hit Rating Buff, Healing, HP
Rings (Hp Ring): Magical Att, Healing, HitRatingBuff, HP

Armor: Phy Def, Dodge, HpRes, HP
Belt: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Crit Res
Boots: HP, Dodge, Absorb, Crit Res
Shield: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Absorb
Amulet: Dodge, Crit Res, Healing, Absorb
Cuff: Phy Def, Mag Def, Hit Rate, Crit Res
Legging: Phy Def, Mag Def, Dodge, Crit Res

Att Stones: Mdmg%, Reduce MagDef%
Def Stones: Red Phy %, Red Mag %
Pet: Matt, Hp, Def, MagDef, Critres, Dodge (could use hitpet also now that available)

Pros: Same defense stats as other builds, High Shackle Rate, High Dodge Rate
Cons: Support player means leveling and playing the game will be hard without a team.

d. BooBies build – “Pots build”

The basics is boobies removed ABS (weakest of Def stats), some Mdef (cus priest have the highest already), and added full healing done. She took away 1 hit and put more HP because in my server she didn’t need 1050+ hit to do well. She had 5th stat mdmg%. Kept tenacity because dodge works best with high tenacity. She put crit reduce stones because when people hit her, its usually a crit so those stones remove as much damage as possible.

Weapon: Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, Magic dmg %, 5th stat Spell damage %
Gloves: Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, Magical Dmg%
Helm (Hp/Mp Helm): Magical Att, Hit Rate, Healing, HP
Rings (Hp Ring): Magical Att, Healing, Magical Dmg%, HP

Armor: Phy Def, Dodge, Healing Done, HP
Belt: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Crit Res
Boots: HP, Dodge, healing done, Crit Res
Shield: Phy Def, Mag Def, HP, Healing Done
Amulet: Dodge, Crit Res, Healing, Healing Done
Cuff: Phy Def, Healing Done, Hit Rate, Crit Res
Legging: Phy Def, Healing Done, Dodge, Crit Res

Att Stones: Mdmg%, Reduce MagDef%
Def Stones: Red Crit%, Red Crit Value

Pros: High HP(105k+), High Dodge(1100+), High Crit Res(230+), High Def(5k+), High Mdef(2500+), Best heal to others and self, Best heal by pots(yeah.your almost impossible to kill) and decent Matk (about 5k+)
Cons: Mdef is much less (the value is still very nice so don’t worry about it), Low Absorb (well I don’t think it is a con but a few more absorb will help), Huge money and effort was needed to achieve this build (flame sparks=2k+ g)

Here is a picture of a character I pilot (it’s not updated but this is a decent priest still got more works to do):

This one is not as great as boobies (because the real owner doesn’t want to spend more money on this character *LMAO*). But one of this days I’m looking forward on maximizing this character.

III. Tips

  • I suggest creating another character together with the priest (champions are more preferable). This will allow you to level up faster, boss hunt, earn more silvers and if reached level 70+, can be your very own scholar (for romance island purposes).
  • Patience is a virtue. Do marathon everyday then after it, go RANDOM QUESTS. Priest may start out as weak characters but they end up (for me) as the best class in the game.
  • If you can do afk even if you are sleeping, better do so. You will need this to earn more talent points.
  • Going boobies’ build? Better get a personal scholar (tools) and make your profession as an alchemist (saves you a lot of silvers for pots)
  • Participate in Treasure Land Events (you got the best mdef so you should go to stronger mobs where there are less people). I usually get an average of 250+ bags per Treasure Land event so try to target that number.
  • The most important of all, don’t put all your attention and money on playing such games. Think first about your future (if your studying), your children (if married) and your career (if working).

WATCH OUT FOR THE CHAMPION, WARRIOR AND MAGE GUIDES (I hope I will finish them all this week 🙂 )

What the …….. ?!

Posted: July 2, 2011 in Real life stories

This week was so tiring and some the events happened really pissed me of. It’s not like it was a bad week (there were some very nice and fun events that happened) but most of the things that happened made me say WHAT THE …. ?!

Let me tell you some of them:

MONDAY: The first meeting for our PE class (PE 2 Chess). After some boring discussions with the professor, he then said some of our requirements. A chess board (of course), attendance, the chess pieces and a PE uniform. Wait a minute. A PE UNIFORM? (*Woah*) I’m enrolled in a board game class (no physical activities and just only pure thinking abilities) and yet we need a PE uniform? What would that be for? I chose chess as my PE to lessen some expenses like that uniform (PE uniform cost something). But I got no other options but to buy one (*wew* bye-bye some of my allowance).

TUESDAY: All students were released by 1pm in the afternoon. The classes were cut off. Everyone was very happy about it (I think). What the….?! Why is it Tuesday? Of all the days, Why Tuesday? My classes during Tuesday ends at 1pm. Very nice. I didn’t enjoyed the cut off of classes because it was literally my dismissal. And the worst of all, EVERYBODY was waiting for a jeepney for a ride home. Yeah, it took me about 30mins of waiting for a jeepney. (Lots of time wasted)

WEDNESDAY: Our DG was scheduled today. DG stands for discussion group (a somewhat quiz in chem16). We were waiting for our classes outside the room until I saw Miko pass by. I asked her if the DG was easy, she said it was very easy. She went back inside the room then come out again. She said (this time) that she was just bluffing. I thought she was just scaring me so I didn’t review anymore for it. And here comes the DG, Its #@*$%@# hard. I just got a 36 out of 50 (still lucky to pass it). I’m really pissed of myself because I should have just believe her. (I learned my lesson now 🙂 ) And another assignment was given to us. It was the prelab for experiment 1. Due on Thursday. What the …? tomorrow is THURSDAY! I got no choice but to stay up late to finish it.

THURSDAY: Passing of the prelab (gladly I finished it last night). I was going to the building where the bookshelf is located but the lady guard didn’t allow me to pass through. I showed her my ID but she said to wear it properly. Hey! How am I suppose to wear this, I got no lanyard. What the….? So I am required to buy or produce any kind of lanyard? I will just pass my prelab so i beg her but she said no. I don’t know what to do. I just got 40 pesos at my wallet that time. I can’t buy one and it is the deadline for the prelab. (talk about a bad luck 😦 ) Luckily, my old classmate Cj Calanoga came across and lend me her lanyard. (DAMN you guard *hahaha*)

FRIDAY: It rained in the morning so there were mud on the road where I walk to reach the jeepney terminal. At first, I slipped and got my clothes dirty so I had to go home and change. My shoes were full of mud also (I have just finished washing it today). I almost forgot about the Philosophy class that day (I really hate that Philosophy class the professor’s voice is really soft that I can’t hardly hear it. Not to mention that the lesson was just repeating). I became sleepy because of boredom (BOREDOM SUCKS! >:D ). Usually I close my eyes and when I open it after a while the time would pass by 30mins-1hr but it was hell different during Philosophy time. I closed my eyes by 9am and when I open it, It was still 9am (does time go slow when I was in Philosophy class? I wish it would be on Math17 time instead 😦 ). What the…?!

The week was rough and I’m glad it is now weekend. If you think that I hated this week so much, your wrong. I didn’t hated it so much but I just hated it. I loved some part of the week. Like I now had someone to go home with during Tuesdays and Thursdays (Thanks guard for the strictness now I can talk again with my old classmate 😛 ). I also got a new friend I can trust (Thanks DG for it 🙂 ). I get to meet some old friends at Katipunan (Thanks to those people who rushed to Philcoa jeepneys so I had to take the Katipunan route last Tuesday). I get to eat some nice food at SC (Thanks PE prof for requiring me to buy the PE uniform). We were dismissed early in Philosophy class (Thanks prof, I think your also bored hahaha 😀 ). And most of all, I noticed that some girls are cuter when they are mad (I saw 3 of them this week but I’m not planning to piss some girls just to see it 😛 ).

Hope you like my story for the week 🙂

Let me end this with a very nice quote:

A girl is like a barbie doll,

A barbie doll that is being played,

It can also be lent to others,

And that is just left when you are finished playing with it.

BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER…….

REAL GUYS don’t play Barbie dolls 🙂

I read this story about 13 times since I was grade 4. I remember using the same story in different projects like story telling and interpretations (yeah. I have memorized and mastered the story word per word back then).  The plot is not that amusing but it really caught my attention (I don’t know how or why but maybe because I love discovering things). Going to the story itself, it is about how Archimedes discovered that different matters/objects has different densities.

Here is a simple plot about it:

It happened at a kingdom named Syracuse during the ancient period. The king (I think it was King Hieron) wants to offer the Gods with a crown made of pure gold. He offered the royal crown maker a huge amount of money just to craft one. And there it is, a crown made of  gold was presented to the king but the crown maker is suspicious (It’s obvious that it is not made of pure gold because if it is made of pure gold, it would have been deformed already *Chem Rocks*). He then asked Archimedes if the crown was really of pure gold.(lets skip some details) Archimedes proved that it was a fake (using water displacement of the crown and pure gold of same amount and basically the pure gold’s displacement was more than of the crown). Archimedes gained glory and fame because of his discovery.

During our era, that was just a simple procedure but imagine doing it several centuries ago (that’s pretty tough). This really proves that he was a great scientist.

Let us go back to my experience. My classmates (from grade 5-4th year high school) was really annoyed of me because every story analysis I wrote was about this. My thesis was about Archimedes (about 2 out of 3 of the thesis I made). But to clarify things, I’m not a STALKER of Archimedes (*hahaha*). It is just that this was a simple story and easy to remember so I have used it for long as I can use it. I idolized him because analyzing his history, he is not really a genius like Albert Einstein but he is just a simple man who wants to ease his life. This proves that even your just an average guy, you can make a contribution to the development  in the present knowledge of the  present world. 🙂

KNIGHTS assembly!

Posted: June 30, 2011 in GAME REVIEWS

I was surfing the net to find some new topics to post then I came across “SPIRAL KNIGHTS” so I decided just to make a game review for now.

Now lets move on to the GAME REVIEW:

What’s HOT:

Spiral Knights offers a Dragonica and Grand Chase type of gameplay for a lesser file size (only 86MB which saves me a lot of time downloading a great game). This was made by Three Rings (an independent developer and operator of Online games) with a partnership with SEGA. It offers cooperative game play, instant action, a real time changing cycle of levels (different world in every moment of the day) and the most important part is FREE TO PLAY.

STORYLINE:

The Spiral Knights have awoken on an alien world. Their equipment stores have been raided and their starship, The Skylark, will not recover from the crash. Now they must work together to survive on a journey that will take them to the very core of the world. (I will not expand it cause it is long but that is the main story of the game)

GAMEPLAY:

As I have said earlier, Spiral Knights is like Dragonica and Grand Chase (if you haven’t played Dragonica and Grand Chase yet, now is your chance to experience it). Controls are the same. Arrow keys for movements and Z for attack. If there is a difference between the two, that would be the skills and equipment. Dragonica offers a lot more skills than Spiral Knights (file size tells you why). The only skill you can use in Spiral Knights is a “Charged Attack” (in Grand Chase, there are variation in Charged attacks depending on the length of time charged). If there would be a problem about this game, it would be “NO JUMP and NO DASH functions” (don’t  know why they didn’t create it but it really sucks if you just have to run around until you reach the destination).

GRAPHICS:

Most players are concerned with graphics. Spiral Knights is a 3D game. It has a pretty nice graphics and a smooth animation. The characters and enemy mobs are cute. The attacks are well detailed. The best way to describe it would be “It is a 86MB game with an insane graphics” (as said by my friend).

SOUNDS:

Some players don’t care about sounds and tracks (they just turn off the speakers). But for me, it adds more color to the game (Imagine TV with no sounds *LMAO*) . The tracks are repeating but well paired with the environment. The voice of the characters were really close to reality (try wave a sword with all your might *hiyah*).

REPLAY:

Well it is an online game so you will be craving for more as updates come. Lots of weapons and equipment to test, meeting new friends online and new worlds to come. Discovering a trick (for example forge bug were you can forge without loosing anything in Godswar) can let you have sleepless nights because you want to maximize it until the GMs fix it (*RFOL*).

OVERALL:

A very nice work from Three Rings. A worthwhile game to spend weekends with. If I will rate it from 1-5, 5 as the highest, it would be 4 because of “NO JUMPS and NO DASH” (*Demonic Laugh*). I suggest you try it and see for yourself. Enjoy playing 🙂

(Credits to my blockmate Nur-Miko Guiamano for introducing this to me and giving me a background of this game. Thanks a lot:))

UP Diliman is such a great school. I’m proud of myself for passing the UPCAT. It’s a mix of emotions when I got the results for I am happy because I passed and yet a bit sad for my close friends who did not made it. Come to think, I’m the only one who passed among my high school “barkada”. College life, indeed, would be more difficult than my high school life would be but thinking about the bright side, everyone is back to zero. If you got a bad reputation/attitude in high school, why not try to undo all that impressions and errors for a better life. Indeed a new start of a new life

After about 1 day of orientation and 5 days of formal classes this are some of my not so normal experiences based on my classes:

  • MATH17: My favorite subject of all times (obviously).  I was talking with my seatmate when a guy wearing t-shirt and pants went inside the classroom and seems like looking for a seat. I want to make new friends so I take a look around for a vacant seats but there are none left. Then that guy suddenly introduced himself. I was surprised. HE IS OUR PROFESSOR in MATH17. I thought he is one of the freshmen. (*RFOL*)
  • PHILO1: From the subject name it seems interesting and exciting. I kept saying to myself “at last a subject focusing on critical thinking”. On the first day everything turned out to be SO MUCH BORING. But one the next meeting, we were asked what is the meaning of “MEANING”. I searched the dictionary but nothing seems to be appropriate to give its meaning. It really attracted my attention even though the professor speaks softly. it was like he was talking to me one on one. I will have no regrets taking up this subject.
  • CHEM16 (LECTURE): The hall was big and air conditioned makes me want to sleep throughout the period. I didn’t pay up so much attention in the topics discussed because I was busy looking at the pictures and some other things in the hall.
  • CHEM16 (LAB): The classroom was located too far and it was 12:30 in the afternoon. It’s FREAKING hot. “Para tayong bagong ligo” said to me by a blockmate. Another fresh graduate professor was assigned to my class (I wonder how many new graduate profs are there). He seems friendly. It was like we are being taught by an older friend and not a professor. The PRELAB paper was another problem. Didn’t know what it looks like because I lost my copy. I ended up finishing it at school.
  •  GEOG1: The class was fun. We were asked to introduce ourselves together with our daily allowance and something unique about us. If the trait exists, you have to dance or sing in front of the class. There is one thing I’m sure of about this class, “I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS“.
  • ENG1: The first part of the diagnostic test as seen from my point of view was HELL. I got only 5 out of 15. I bet my previous english teachers would be ashamed of me if they discovered it (*LMAO*). A nice subject and is located at the 4th FLOOR of AS near the corner of the HALL. Another burn your calories subject.
My classmates:
They are all nice. I’m already friends with some and looking forward to be friends with everyone. There are 3 classmates that already caught my attention. One is a familiar face that I had fought in MTAP NCR TEAM FINALS contest. Another one was my classmate in every subject that I have. And the last one is a girl that I can’t explain why I can’t forget her face and her presence but I feel refreshed and glad whenever I see her. I wonder why. I wish it is always TUESDAY/THURSDAY. 😛
I already had this fun for just only 6 days? I can’t wait for more. I just can’t get enough. I can’t wait this upcoming Saturday (this time that would be a secret :P).
